How it works
The final score 2:1 gives a total of 3 goals: over 2.5 wins, under 2.5 loses. Who scored is irrelevant — only the sum counts. A typical line: over 2.5 at 1.85, under at 1.95.
Line types
- Half lines (2.5) — no refund possible, the bet always settles win or lose.
- Whole lines (2.0, 3.0) — exactly 2 goals on a 2.0 line is a push: stake returned.
- Quarter lines (2.25, 2.75) — stake splits between the neighbouring lines, same mechanics as the Asian handicap.
Why 2.5 is the anchor
The 2.5 line sits close to the long-term average of goals per match in most adult leagues, so it splits outcomes near 50/50 and became the reference point for comparing matches and leagues.
