What Team Form Means and How to Read It

Team form is the run of recent results, usually the last 5–10 matches, written as a W/D/L series (win/draw/loss) with goals scored and conceded.

What the series hides

WWWWL reads as great form — until you notice the four wins came against bottom-half sides and the loss against a title contender. Form without opponent context overrates teams on soft schedules.

Goals tell the second half of the story

Two teams with identical W/D/L can be different animals: 24 scored / 8 conceded is sustained superiority, 12/11 is coin-flip football. xG over the same stretch shows whether the results were earned or lucky.

The form column shows the last 10 matches per team with the scored-conceded balance on top; clicking the header sorts by points, goal difference or goal sum.
