David Volk, goalkeeper for Dynamo Makhachkala, has lauded Cape Verde's 41-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha for his standout performances at the 2026 World Cup.
Cape Verde has advanced to the Round of 16 and is set to face Argentina. Volk remarked, "Vozinha's phenomenon lies in his hard work. Apparently, at 41, he still trains to the maximum."
Volk added that Vozinha "clearly prepared for the World Cup, and the fruits of his training showed that he deserves to be in this tournament."
He admitted he had not heard of Vozinha before the tournament but finds it interesting to observe new faces making an impact.
