USA players insist momentum remains despite late Turkey loss

The US Men's National Team lost to Turkey on Thursday in their final group stage match but emerged from the group as second-place finishers. Despite the late-game setback, players projected confidence about their knockout stage prospects.

Defender Auston Trusty emphasized the team's overall positivity: "We were overwhelmingly positive. Obviously, going into this game, they really had nothing to play for. Guys got minutes to prove themselves and show their ability, and that's what we did. And I think we played well. We had a lot of chances that didn't go our way, and then to lose with the last second goal was just unfortunate."

The rotation forced by yellow card clearance—four US players received cautions in earlier matches and were benched—meant numerous squad players earned minutes to showcase their abilities.

The US will face Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Round of 32 knockout stage, where intensity and focus should be heightened after this rotational outing.
