Bologna have set a €25 million asking price for Colombian centre-back Jhon Lucumi, as Juventus pursue a twin-track defensive recruitment strategy. A release clause valued at €28 million is only valid until mid-July, after which the player could become available to Premier League clubs at higher prices.
Juventus manager Spalletti first identified Lucumi as a defensive priority in January. The club is keen to move quickly to secure the defender before the mid-July deadline eliminates the release clause. Lucumi's contract with Bologna runs through summer 2027.
The timing pressure means Juventus must act decisively in the coming weeks, as the mid-July threshold could allow English clubs to hijack the deal and significantly inflate the final fee. The defender's signing would address Juventus' identified priority since January and could shift the club's Serie A title odds as they solidify their defensive foundation.
