What Is Double Chance in Betting

Double chance covers two of the three match outcomes with one bet: 1X (home win or draw), 12 (no draw), X2 (away win or draw). It loses only when the third outcome lands.

How it works

Covering two outcomes means the bet wins far more often than a single 1X2 pick — and pays far less. Where a home win costs 2.40, the 1X double chance on the same team may cost around 1.35.

Double chance vs draw no bet

Take a bet on the away side. With X2 a draw is a win; with draw no bet a draw is a refund. X2 pays lower odds for that extra coverage. Which is better depends on how likely you rate the draw.

When it makes sense

Typical use: backing an underdog you expect to resist, not necessarily to win. The price on favourites in double chance is usually too low to be interesting.
